Exploring data with an interactive quiz
In late 2017 I joined the team at Applied Works as Lead Designer to complete the Tribes of Europe web project for Chatham House - the Royal Institute of International Affairs.
In 2016 and 2017 Chatham House surveyed over 10,000 people across ten European countries. The data they colected revealed six ‘Tribes of Europe’ whose members share similar attitudes towards the EU. Applied Works were asked to create a website that allows users to explore the data and find out which tribe they most closely match.
The site launched in 9 languages across Europe in December 2017. The site has received over 100k visitors with 98% of those completing the test, making it Chatham House’s most successful digital project to date.
The project was also featured by the BBC and picked up a European Digital Communication Award in 2018.
