Three digital exhibits in a relaxed lounge space

The National Maritime Museum wanted to create an informal space where visitors can explore the museum's vast archive and understand it's contemporary relevance through digital technology.

The visual language of the space was developed around the theme of navigation; juxtaposing old maps from the archive with colours and symbols from modern digital mapping systems.

We created 3 key digital interactives which are embedded into the furniture in the space. Large touchscreen drawers for vewing plans and maps, a panoramic Horizon screen where visitors can browse the archives vast collections and a Compass Card system which allows visitors to virtually 'collect' objects around the museum.
